Background

Dr. Josef Bystrik is a Brooklyn, New York-based emergency medicine physician and Emergency Ultrasound Fellow at NewYork-Presbyterian Queens, where he trains under the EUFAC-accredited fellowship affiliated with Weill Cornell Medical College. A Brooklyn native and Brooklyn Technical High School alumnus, he completed the seven-year combined BS/MD program at the Sophie Davis School of Biomedical Education at The City College of New York (CCNY) and earned his MD from the CUNY School of Medicine in 2022. He completed his Emergency Medicine residency at NewYork-Presbyterian Brooklyn Methodist Hospital, graduating with the Class of 2025, and is licensed to practice medicine in New York (license 334220). His clinical and academic interests center on point-of-care ultrasound (POCUS) in adult and pediatric emergency care, including resuscitative, procedural, and diagnostic applications, and he has co-authored a peer-presented case report on pediatric branchial cleft cyst infection at NewYork-Presbyterian. At Lotus Health, he contributes emergency medicine and emergency ultrasound expertise to clinician-in-the-loop oversight of AI-supported acute and primary care workflows.
